Fashion renovation

So the reason for this post is really to help you guys save money and learn to appreciate the thrift store a little bit more. Honestly going into the thrift store can be pretty overwhelming. It has a bit of everything, its usually pretty chaotic with things everywhere. If your not in the right state of mine its pretty easy to walk right out. But if you take the time to look it can be pretty succesful! Like today when we transform an old skirt into a very in fashion asymetrical skirt!

The inspiration: Forever 21: 21$
I think the most important thing to do when going to a second hand shop is to look for pattern and colors and not neccessaraly judge it for exactly what it is. So for my first fashion renovation I chose to do a very simple project. All you need is a longer skirt and some very basic sewing knowledge. So first things first: Walk into that thrift store (ex: Goodwill) and walk right over to the skirt section and start looking for either a maxi or a long midi skirt with a pattern you like. Make sure it fits before leaving! Most thrift stores wont take returns! Now cut it into the desired ''asymetricalness'', as u can see I made mine very subtle. Now sew up the hem and you are finished.

Maurice Richard

So today I chose to wear this stripped knitted sweater that reminds me of a vintage sweater young boys would wear when playing hockey outside, around the time Maurice Richard was popular.  And coincidently I had to study for my History of Sports class that actually talks about this wonderful hockey player.

Flowy thursday

Today I wore I very flowy beige top that my sister gave to me, its super comfy. I decided to pair it with my dark jeans. It was pretty chilly out so I paired it with this little jacket this has a burberry type pattern out the sides. I love it since it fits soo nice I think for a Goodwill find.

Black and white

Today's outfit was very somber almost for me, but thankfully the pattern on the leggings definetly brightens it up! Kinda graduates very nicely into the spring florals but still fitting into the winter colors. The lighting made me look awfully pale, I promise I am not generally ghostly pale hihi. I hope you guys enjoy!!!

Hot pink sous chef

Let me start this by saying that I absolutly love this top, even though it has the sous chef type of neckline. I got it at goodwill, after fallling in love with the bright color and the pearl buttons. I chose to add my polka dot flats since I thought it kinda mimicked the look of the buttons! Hope you enjoy!

knitted and braided

Today was a pretty chilly day unfortunetly :( I wore this knitted sweater I got two years ago for the very first time... I also decided to sport these new more looser fit American Eagle jeans I got this weekend at label shopper for only 20 dollars! I love that store, has great deals! I apologize for the not as nice as usual picture quality, I had to do them by myself with the self timer :(  Hope you all had a great monday!
