Diy collar necklace

Soo today I decided it was time for me to finally get around to making some form of a collar necklace. This trend has been around for quite some time now but I just never ended up making one since all the tutorial I saw seemed pretty time consumming. So I decided that if I was gonna make one, I was gonna do it my way, that being the most simple way I could think of. Now some may call it the lasy way but I prefer to consider it the most efficient way to achieve a beautiful result. Soo now on to the very easy instructions.

Step 1: walk into your nearest thrift store and go through the blouse and blazer section. Spot an item, no matter what the size, that has a beautiful collar. Purchase and bring it home.

Step 2: remove this beautiful collar leasing about and inch to half an inch of exces fabric.

Step 3: Fold this exces over on to the underside of the collar and sew in place. This will leave it with a very nice folded hem.

Step 4: Sew on a hook on one side and an eye on the other to attach the collar together.

Step 5: rock the look!

New hair + goodwill goodies!

Soo today me and my sister decided to highlight each others hair. Kinda a you scratch my back ill scratch yours sorta deal...but before that I decided to make a quick stop at the thrift store to get two three things I needed for futur diy and outfit of the day outfits. Also I left a few things behind last time that I really regretted not getting so I went on the look out for it again! Now the one item I know REALLY wanted to get were a pair of overalls to turn into a top. I saw this in clothesencounters newest video and was super intrigues by the idea. I wanted to buy a light wash one so I could dye them a pale lavender color but unfotunetly there were none that day :( So instead I bought a light wash denim vest that I plan on dying in the same method but perhaps adding some embilishement on the shoulders. I am pretty pumped but still kinda wanna wait to find the overalls before wasting all this extra dye I will have.
Here is the link to the video incase you guys want to check it out!

Now for my hair! I decided the the ombre look didnt really turn out for me and I really wanted to be blonder! I chose to just get the same bleach I used for my ombre attempt since it didnt not leave my hair feeling all that damaged and its inexpensive. I already had this developper on hand soo I just needed to buy a highlighting cap and off we went!
So this is my before picture

Now me with this wonderful cap on... I feel like this device makes everyone look like the janitor in Harry Potter.

I let the color set for about 10 minutes, washed it out, conditioned and dryed it. Afterwards I decided to add a fushia peek a boo highlight right under my left ear but it turned out more of a pinky red? So voilĂ  the final result.
What do you guys think!

star studded

Remember how I posted about a week ago that I had purchased a denim top that I wanted to ombre? Well I couldnt for the life of me find rit color remouver soo here is what I did.

First things first I cut off the sleeves from my short sleeve denim top by Eddie Bower that I got at salvation army for 3 dollars.

Next for the dyeing. I attempted to achieve the same look using a bleach solution. Unfortunetly I didnt get the very subtle ombre that I wanted. The top three quarters of it was much lighter then the bottom have sooo I decided to dip the darker part in the bleach to make the change between shades less drastic.

Now to give the top some more oommph I decided to stud the collar with some star studs I had left over :)

What do you guys think? :)

Diy wednesday!

Soo today I decided to try out this diy inspiration I had! I recently found this image on Weheartit and thought it was gorgeous! Soo I followed the link to this persons etsy store and saw that they were selling it for 60 dollars! Pretty pricey I thought... But then I realized I could make this for only a couple dollars.

So here is the inspiration:

And here is my final result:

Now if you guys like what I did, you guys can just follow this basic instructions and make one yourself!

So first things first the material's! You are gonna need:
1 thrifted jean jacket our vest
1 piece of fabric large enough to fit the back panel of the jacket
Studs, I used these star studs I found on eBay
Sewing necessities or fabric glue

Step 1:
Since I used a child jean jacket I found at my local goodwill, I needed to cut off the arms. So I just snipped them of with a pair of fabric sissors.

Step 2:
Next stud the outside of the back panel.
Step 3:
Take a piece of fabric that is slightly larget then the back panel and fold in the exces to create a nice edge. Now you can either pin all around like I did then sew or you can glue it down with some fabric glue.

Step 4:
Rock the look! I hope you guys enjoy!
