So the reason for this post is really to help you guys save money and learn to appreciate the thrift store a little bit more. Honestly going into the thrift store can be pretty overwhelming. It has a bit of everything, its usually pretty chaotic with things everywhere. If your not in the right state of mine its pretty easy to walk right out. But if you take the time to look it can be pretty succesful! Like today when we transform an old skirt into a very in fashion asymetrical skirt!
I think the most important thing to do when going to a second hand shop is to look for pattern and colors and not neccessaraly judge it for exactly what it is. So for my first fashion renovation I chose to do a very simple project. All you need is a longer skirt and some very basic sewing knowledge. So first things first: Walk into that thrift store (ex: Goodwill) and walk right over to the skirt section and start looking for either a maxi or a long midi skirt with a pattern you like. Make sure it fits before leaving! Most thrift stores wont take returns! Now cut it into the desired ''asymetricalness'', as u can see I made mine very subtle. Now sew up the hem and you are finished.
